• Attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1972-1976
• Had a bit role in Cocktail (1988) where he can be sitting at the Jamaican bar. He received no credit.
• Has two sons, James Gabriel Eckhouse (Gabe) and John Alexander Eckhouse (Zander).
• Jim Walsh, Eckhouse's character on "Beverly Hills, 90210" (1990), was ranked #41 in TV Guide's list of the "50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time" [20 June 2004 issue].
